Do you have chargers?
Yes, we have most major phone and laptop chargers. They can be borrowed for six hours at a time, and you can renew them if not in demand. They can be found in the Reserves area, in storage bins marked with the type of charger.

How do I borrow something?
We have self-checkout, similar to a grocery store. You can either use the kiosk by tapping your ID card, or download the MeeScan app on your phone. Then, just scan the NECO Library barcode sticker, and you’re good to go! View our video below for a walk-through.
How do I renew my item?
To renew an item, simply email us at library@neco.edu, or use the chat box on this website. Note that, if an item is in demand, you may not be able to renew it.
How do I return the item I borrowed?
There are two quick steps to returning an item:
- Go to the MeeScan kiosk and choose “Return item.” Scan the item’s NECO Library sticker barcode (usually on the front cover of books; occasionally on the inside back cover for older books).
- Drop the item into the return bin next to the kiosk.
That’s it!
Do you charge fines for late returns?
We do not charge fines. However, we do expect items to be returned on time.
If your item becomes overdue, you have a certain amount of time (typically 2 hours for reserves and technology, and 3 days for circulating books) to get the materials back to us before we suspend your borrowing privileges. After that time, your borrowing privileges are suspended until the materials are returned. Additionally, once an item is overdue, it cannot be renewed; you must return the item before checking it out again (assuming it is not in demand). Please consider your fellow students before keeping materials for longer than the borrowing period.
If an item remains overdue for 30 days, the item is considered lost, and the patron will be charged the replacement value of the item (as determined by the director of library services) plus a $15 replacement fee. These charges are submitted to the business office, and are included with tuition bills.
What if I break or lose the item I borrowed?

Probably! If you're looking for something the library doesn't own, we are connected to thousands of other libraries, and we can request it on your behalf. This service is available to NECO students, faculty, staff, and residents.
