Optometrists use many types of evidence to answer patients' questions. They draw upon knowledge learned in their OD programs; examine a patient's history, symptoms, and signs; and refer to medical textbooks or clinical guidelines.

Please review the steps below to learn more about how to use evidence-based optometry in your practice. By doing so, you will be able to find and use high-quality evidence that is suitable for answering your patient’s question.
